There's a lot of truth in that.  Catholicism absorbed at your mother's 
knee becomes part of your psyche as it affects the whole of your life in 
a similar way to Judaism and Islam nut unlike Anglicanism as generally 
practised.  This is because of the (no meat on Fridays" and the 
requirement for auricular confession among other things.  RC Canon Law 
also states that somebody remains a Catholic unless they leave that 
faith by a definitive act so those who simply lapse are still officially RC.
