True, Jim. And among the "high" churches there are nuances:

1. Ascension: somewhat Tridentine ceremonial with Rite II plus Roman
Gradual propers (some have said, the picture doesn't match the sound).
Fabulous if sometimes esoteric music. Prayerful mood; sometimes warm,
sometimes bitchy depending on whom you encounter; profound silence
before Mass starts.
2. Atonement: big concelebration by a "wall-o'-priests" on big days;
way overly loud Notre Dame-style organ; fairly modern RC ceremonial in
the sanctuary.Upbeat mood.
3. St. James Cathedral: big processions, copes, liturgical kites on
big days; super choir and organ; ceremonial adapted to the space and
style. Liberal, welcoming.
