I always found it fascinating that one could cross the U.S.-Canada
border at Detroit/Windsor and experience a different accent. There's
overlapping TV and radio, yet the Detroit River and the international
border create a cultural wall. The differences are not huge but are
noticeable, between people living really only a few miles apart.
