To clarify as I realized I did not fully explain what I meant when I said I 
don't get ads on gmail. I meant I'm not reading my gmail on the web, I'm 
reading it in a MS product called Windows Live. If I did read it on the 
Google portal I would see the ads that I am getting.

I do get ads on the sidebar of my FB page, but they are usually only related 
to places I've gone looking for products before, especially if I've used the 
FB side bar as the link. .... they keep  hoping I'll buy someday : (
