King Xerxes???  What happened to Ahasuerus!? 
After I wrote that, I found this explanation in a footnote:

Ahasuerus is a Latin-English transcription of the Hebrew form of the Persian name Kshajarsha, in Gr. Xerxes.

Good grief...!
