The Cloisters is also the headquarters of the ICMA = International  Center
of Medieval Art, of which I am a long time member.  They are a  major
sponsor of the annual International Congress on Medieval Studies
at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo.  I've attended a number 
of times.  What a hoot - a thousand or more medievalists in one  place!
