A bit of both, I think. He seems to lack the humility it would take to
have his opinions changed by the writings of an expert, or indeed even
by facts.
And I think he's lent an air of legitimacy to the opinions expressed
in many local bars after patrons have downed a few drinks and the
filters weaken: Then it really looks like Trump "tells it like it is":
Muslims one and all are a threat; Mexicans will take us over, so build
a wall; abortions will stop if we jail women who have them....ad
nauseam.
If that's truly "like it is," I need to find another country, seriously.
