It brought on a lot of real double blind taste tests.  Something like 89% of those who tasted preferred - wait for it - RC Cola.  RC makes most of the store brand soft drinks.  It nearly tripled RC sales and earned them more shelf space in most stores.  RC took out a full page ad in the NY Times thanking Coca Cola for New Coke.

Alleluia!  Christ is risen!
