To be honest you weren't there with me - in Paradise MI.  It's a pleasant-looking little town in an attractive part of the country.  Since I wasn't in a rush I took the scenic byway option on MI-123 and around Whitefish Bay before and after my brief sojourn in Paradise.  The GPS did not like my choice, telling me how to get back on the fastest route at every opportunity :-)  The wind has dropped from what it was earlier in the week so even Lake Superior looked quite calm with waves lapping gently to the shore.
When I was in Paradise I noticed that the hotel was opening today and later I discovered the same is true of the Best Western I am now at in Mackinaw City.  Not everything has woken from its hibernation yet though.  I sure hope some of the eateries are as I will want my dinner tonight.  The view from the Mackinac Bridge was splendid though I could have done without the noise when I was on the metal part of the bridge deck.  Maintenance work meant that in parts one or other of the lanes was closed but there were no delays and I had a glorious view of all the bits of land and the wonderful blue colour of the top end of Lakes Michigan and Huron.
