When I developed a major hives problem, my dermatologist prescribed an
H-1 and an H-2 to attack histamines on two levels, as it were.

I think it was basically prescription strengths of Claritin and Zantac
(the antacid, off-label an H-2 antihistamine).

So sometimes if I have a minor flareup I'll take one Benadryl and one
Zantac to do something similar.
