There's a tendency in the Upper Midwest for Lutheran pastors to  stride
about the sanctuary as though it were their living-room.  Perhaps  the
word, "saunter," would be more appropriate.  I always find the  practice
coarse and a bit unrefined.
 
I have little experience with Lutherans elsewhere, and I've often  wondered
if this is a custom out of Luther Seminary, Twin Cities, MN because  most
pastors in that region are trained there.
