Peanuts in some form or other just get into food now.  I think there's  
more of
this in cuisine and snacks than back in the day.
 
There weren't the inexpensive jars of peanuts now everywhere  including
the checkout area of the supermarkets.  For a long time they  were
handed out with drinks on planes - really for a whole generation.   They've
switched to those tasteless mini-pretzels, now.
 
The cost, of course, is peanuts.
