Comcast had different rates in different cities. Basic slow here in Houston, no cable tv is about 50$ but the speed is almost always lower than its supposed to be

FWIW, our TV is hooked up to an indoor antenna, and the Blu-Ray player
can use its LAN connection to the Linux DVR + file server.  Watching OTA
or playing a DVD is a snap for my wife. (Pulling videos from Linux is a
mystery to her, but I imagine she would figure it out if there were
more content that interested her).  Otherwise, I might seem the
controlling party in this setup.
