Any mention of the fact that she had tertiary syphillis (Jenkins, that is),
and therefore a lot of cognitive deficit? Her actual story is really
heart-breaking.

Compare rolls of Joplin early and late in his life for another
demonstration of the damaging powers of syphillis.
