I received a parcel from England (Twickenham, I believe) yesterday, and noted that my books were wrapped in that shipping day's Telegraph, mostly weather and some political news, noted the very polite bubbled words about how the recent rains may become less onerous soon, and then noted that the entire UK and Ireland was awash in little raincloud icons. "Lord!" says I to myself, "I forget how BIG we are over here. Over there, basically one weather report covers an entire nation!" I hyperbolise, but you get my point.

I was also heartwarmed by the wording on the outside of the parcel. We over here have no problem with a hastily stamped or written "Fragile". But you civilised Brits? "Printed Matter - Books - With Care Please". A people that still believes even common postal workers benefit from basic prepositions. Beautiful!
