[Magdalen] Help--older gmail messages!

You should have a display at the top, righthand side of your currently
displaying email.
This should be a number (e.g. "6 of 357") and to the right of this, you
should see a small oblong with two carats
They should look like this:   "  <     >  "
The right-hand carat calls for the next older email. You should be able to
roll back one by one through all of your email. A bit time-consuming, but
do-able.
However, if you click multiple times on the right-hand carat, it gives you
the option of going back to older email.  Keep clicking on the right-hand
carat, and you should get older sequences of emails.

Now it may be that you do not see these two carats.  I have noticed at
times that they disappear, because they are being displayed with the same
color as the background, which effectively makes them invisible. It's not
supposed to do that, but it did it with me a few times.  If you remember
that the carats are actually there, just to the right of the numbers, even
if you can't see them, they are still there, and will still work.

If you do not see the carat at all,  go a small distance to the right of
the number display (the "5 of 7265" or it may say "6 of many"). You want to
click far enough to the right that you do not click on the left-hand carat,
which will move to the next newer email.  If you do this by accident, it is
absolutely no problem. You will know you simply need to click just a bit
further to the right to get the right-hand carat.

Another fix is to look at the area I was just talking about, but look just
a little further to the right.
You should see a small window with what looks like the cog of a mechanical
wheel in it.
Click on this wheel. You will get a drop-down menu. One item is settings.

Click on settings.

You should see a nice big window with a lot of choices. The top menu should
be showing "general."
If not, simply click on the menu choice at the top of the window that says
"General".

Below, look for the heading "Maximum page size"
You will see to the right a number of pages.  Click on this number of
pages. You will get a drop-down menu with different numbers of pages.

Click on the selection 100.

That will enable you to see one hundred emails headers at a time.
