I hate that hissing TRES psses. I'm always very careful to say
TRESS-PASSes (that's the word, here in America, folks, where most of the
ones discussing this live and pray). Just saw Margaret's "never heard
anyone...." -- I guess we haven't prayed together. Actually I MUCH prefer
the contemporary version, as it's clearer: "Forgive us our sins, as we
forgive those who sin against us." When I was young, I always thought of
those "No Trespassing" signs we saw all over the countryside on our jaunts
for pawpaws, persimmons, and mushrooms, and couldn't figure out why we were
praying to God about that!
