[Magdalen] Meatless, but definitely NOT penitential

The older I get, the less I mind giving things up for Lent, and find it a
useful exercise. I'm already so virtuous that it almost makes my teeth
hurt; but Fridays in Lent I tend to go meatless, as I have/am today. For
lunch I make a meatless chili out of refried beans and diced tomatoes with
chili powder, heated in the microwave, and for dinner we'll have salad and
a frittata with cooked veggies added. Sigh, not even any bacon on my
Friday breakfasts out with the girlfriends -- but it makes me glad when
Easter comes.
Today we got about 4 inches of snow. More was predicted, and it looked
like a whiteout sometimes, but not much accumulation, as it turned out, and
light -- could almost have been cleared with a broom, but I used a shovel
this early afternoon, and not much more collected after that.
