Oh, the blessed spaghetti-and-wine evenings some friends and I enjoyed
at university. Our usual tipple was a magnum (well, a big glass jug;
we called it a mahnyoom) of Carlo Rossi Chianti. Meat sauce (or call
it gravy) was homemade and delicious. If we had imbibed a bit too much
while the pasta cooked, the pasta was liable to go right down the
drain with the water, depending on who was trying to drain it. And oh,
the headaches!
