[Magdalen] Said the magic word

I was asked to run for junior warden this morning. I'm glad to report I said No.

It's tempting to follow No with an explanation, which of course leaves
the door open to a Yes if the explanation isn't convincing.

I simply said thanks for the invitation and kind words, and that I
couldn't commit to this at this time. Next time I'll leave out "at
this time," as it left the door open for the next question, "Does this
mean you might run once we find out who our next priest-in-charge will
be?" I said I couldn't make the commitment in good conscience with
other commitments I have in life. From now on it's going to be
broken-record time (if necessary): "Thanks, but I cannot run."

Clearly, the only word necessary is No. But I'm afraid that brevity
would lead to projections as to my attitude, real reasons, etc.
