When I was a newlywed of 21 or 22, therefore about 1966, I went into St
John's Hospital, where I was born, to get a little cyst taken out from
under my skin (turned out to be a benign tumor, but that's not really
relevant). I was on The Pill. It occurred to me that I'd be getting
medication into me at the hospital, and I was aware of drug
interactions, so I asked my surgeon about whether I should do anything
(or quit for the month) about that only med I was on (he wasn't the
normal GP who'd prescribed it for me). He said it was fine, but DO NOT
let any of the Sisters see it! ;^)
