My paternal gp both from large families, but maternal gp one of two and an
only child. Parents each one of three. None of it to do with contraceptive
tablets....which sadly are not necessarily compatible with a full and happy
sex life for women. They can take the pleasure away just like that, and it
may not come back.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I'm speculating that my maternal grandmother, who died at 42 of a
pregnancy related infection in pre-antibiotic days, was probably
continuously pregnant from the time of her wedding in her early
20's to the time of her untimely death. She left behind a number
of small children, including my Aunt Gladys, who was just a year old.

She had ten pregnancies resulting in viable children (my aunts and
uncles and my mother) and a whole raft of miscarriages.
