No argument there. I do not think that is the problem, since killing any
other human being would be murder.
Abortion has never been treated as murder. There have been very few
attempts to define abortion as murder, and none have passed muster, and for
good reason. Even the most extreme opponents of abortion do not generally
attempt to define abortion as murder.
Obviously, in a world with many varying attitudes and wildly assorted
opinions, there are going to be those who believe abortion is murder, but
then others just as passionately believe that it is not. These are now a
solid majority. Some people are frustrated (when they don't get their way)
with the rule by majority decision, but it's the best process we have thus
far.
I do not know anyone who favors abortion; however, when it comes to making
decisions about an individual, it is best left to the person involved to
determine how they settle the matter. How and what they decide is none of
our business.
If we would pray to end abortion perhaps we would also be wise to pray to
end the systemic evils that cause crippling poverty and hopeless lives.
