I admire Planned Parenthood and support public funding. But it is naive to
think that public funding doesn't help pay for abortion services. Only in
a bookkeeping or accounting sense can one keep income sources separate. If
government subsidies become available for a given set of services, then the
organization very likely will be able to shift some of its other money
around. If it doesn't happen immediately, it almost certainly happens over
time.

Economists have a term for money in this context; it is "fungible".

Many non-profits, including churches, regularly deal with "designated
income". The leaders would rather have un-designated income, of course,
but they learn to deal the situation.
