... Only about 2" here in Houston but prolific.  Even more so years ago when the housing boom for the middle class took off in the late '60s when many homes had wood shingled roofs - all the better to let them easily into one's roof unintentionally...

Over summer, bugs swarm to Florida.  These are by and large  absent
during the tourist season in the winter.  The most obnoxious of the  summer
bugs in Florida to me are those palmetto bugs which are really a  roach,
and can be the size of a dinner plate.
