When I moved to Pennsylvania 30 years ago, we were required (VAMC) to
have a land-line, of course.  That requirement became outdated in  time,
but I had held on to it through a couple of telephone company  ownerships,
and finally put all phone services through the cable company about 2  years
ago.  I saved about $75/month doing this.
