We also played little games approaching
such as the "lake" (Big Wood Lake, WI) and Minneapolis:
"I see the lake first" (coming over a hill crest) and "I see the
Foshay Tower first," (1929 - 1965) tallest building in Minneapolis (432').
now eclipsed by a dozen high rise towers.
Mr. Foshay didn't pay for his J. P. Sousa march, "The Foshay Tower,"
($10,000) used for the dedication of the building just a short while
before the '29 Crash, for obvious reasons. A group of Sousa fans
pooled the money to get the march released, and it turns out to be one
of the best Sousa marches IMHO.
