I wish your mother well in her struggles. 
 
Many of the bingo places around here have closed, and nearly all that  
remain
have gone smoke-free.  The downtown RCC where I cantored for 25  years
used to have bingo twice per week in their spacious undercroft.  Then  it
became apparent that the church above needed to have its extensive
frescos cleaned and repainted.  The cost was well into six figures,  and the
contractor told the monsignor that this project was necessary before its  
time
because of the smoke seeping up from the bingo in the undercroft.
 
That was it.  Bingo was gone in a flash, and replaced by a  day-care
facility that actually pays the church for its use.
