The Daily Service at 10.45 on Radio 4 (used to be the Home Service) used 
to be broadcast live from there, though they now broadcast from a number 
of locations.  During World War II it was broadcast from what is now my 
parish church, St Paul's in Bedford, where I was this morning.  The name 
"Studio 6" is carved into the stones outside the door to the Trinity 
Chapel in remembrance of that.  Not far away is a bust of Glenn Miller 
in a niche on the outside wall of the Corn Exchange recalling the 
concerts he played there before his final flight from an airfield just 
outside the town.
