This morning I was delighted when one of my cats carried a dead vole up on the porch. I moved it out to the grass, but Smudge promptly retrieved it. Patch, the other cat, moved in and took it away and proceeded to play with it a bit under the table, tossing it up in the air, etc. you know, typical cat stuff. Then I looked over and didn't see it. Lifted up a couple of things, made sure it hadn't been tossed into one of my boots. Patch was looking around as well, and I returned to my coffee.

The mystery was solved about a half hour later when Patch threw it up--the whole thing--on the lounge chair! Grossest thing I've seen in a long time....   And I hope it's the grossest thing I'll see in the foreseeable future!
