The Tridentines (Extraordinary Form of the RC Rite) still employ
a sort of fan-shaped affair held usually by a server between the
priest holding the ciborium (no wine for the laity, and the servers 
are always male) and the communicant.  Communion is administered
in the old fashioned style with communicant on his/her knees, and
there are no lay Eucharistic ministers.  The Host is placed on  the
tongue and communion in hand or intinction is forbidden.
