There are lots of good organizations out there, such as the USO. One can
also donate to the VFW, which takes no back seat to any organization for
helping our veterans.
I've been hearing noise about this for some time. Plainly it's best to
wait and see if they can repair themselves.
There are, and always have been, organizations that play on the sympathies
for a cause and don't pass the gains along to the target, but hang on to a
good portion of it.
There will always be misunderstandings of this stuff, such as the scandal
of the local united way exec who gets a salary of over 150 thousand, and
ignorant folks get outraged (That's what you have to pay if you want to
capable executive, so that's not out of line, like it or not).
