I heard a retired Episcopal Bishop of Alaska say that "Yahoo" is very
close to a slang Eskimo language word for "intercourse."
 
He discovered this on one occasion when there was a diocese sponsored
dance for teens in a predominantly Eskimo area, and the advertising  song
of the drink people was played over and over.  The boys, in  particular,
sang the "Yahoo" ditty with suspicious gusto, and the adult Eskimo  
sponsors all
had frowns on their faces.
 
The tune was quickly withdrawn.
