I kind of enjoy the old crime and suspense shows that my parents wouldn't
let us listen to. We had a couple of babysitters, girls from the local
Catholic high school, who we could talk into letting us listen to them, but
our adult babysitters, Mrs Jasper and her mother-in-law, also Mrs. Jasper,
wouldn't let us. I guess they didn't let the young Mrs. Jasper's daughters
listen to them either. But Marilyn and Kay were fine with it; I think they
liked the shows themselves.

We didn't have a TV until I was 13.
