My spouse has a hankering for bamboo.  
 
I like the various types, including the tree bamboo that runs
60 - 80 feet in Japan, but I have read of difficulties with this
group once it is established.
 
My warnings have not been taken, however, and we now have three
species of bamboo in the garden.  I suspect it will be more a problem  for
forthcoming generations in the neighborhood.  So far the stuff  has
