We have a vote for Police & Crime Commissioner tomorrow as well. The 
contrast with other elections is stark. I understand that there are 4 
candidates for the post in Derbyshire - but only one has bothered to 
tell me that he is standing. This is only the second time there has been 
a vote for this office and I, like Roger, am not convinced of the 
usefulness of the post. I am still debating whether I will vote on this 
- and I normally regard it as my bounden duty to vote in any election. 
Sometimes I have been tempted to spoil the ballot paper when I was not 
convinced by any candidate.
