Called on CNN "Whitelash." At least the racial/ethnic part of the seismic
changes in the USA was put in motion by the Immigration and Nationality
Act of 1965 during the Presidency of LB Johnson.

This was quietly enacted without much publicity or fanfare. It changed
the previous preference for European nationals for immigration to
a much broader base.

Prior to 1965, I would have described the USA as an extension of European
culture in the New World. I wouldn't make that statement now. I've gotten
used to this broader concept, but, unfortunately, many USA whites have
not, and still think it is the way it was in 1965.

It looks as though these types are going to enjoy that misconception
for another 4 years at least.
