They were part of the initial cast ('63) at the Guthrie Theater,  
Minneapolis, and
appeared in plays there regularly for many years.  Those who were  regulars
at the Guthrie got used to seeing them, and it was possible to chat with  
them
as they habitually ate lunch together in the gourmet cafeteria shared  
between
Guthrie and the Walker Art Gallery.
 
Another actor/actress couple from my home area in the Upper Midwest
were Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne who resided most of their years
at "Ten Chimneys" (Genesse Depot, Wisconsin), but they were just a
bit elderly at the time of the early days of the Guthrie.  They are  often
referred to as the greatest American acting duo.
 
I really miss the Guthrie.
