It also follows the order in Matthew and Mark (Luke is the other way 
round).  Since that is the order of consecration it make s sense to 
follow the same order in distribution. I would add to that the practical 
point that when communion was commonly given with ordinary bread the 
wine after would help swill down any loose crumbs.
