Paul Manz was Cantor (in the Lutheran use of that word) of Mount  Olive
Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Minneapolis for many years, and then
took a similar position at Saint Luke's Lutheran in Chicago.  Though  he 
wrote
other choral and instrumental music, he is best known for the E'n so,
Lord Jesus.
 
This anthem is one of the few American compositions used in the
annual Kings College Cambridge Christmas Lessons & Carols.
