I was driving down here to Mass. last night, when NPR (WGBH) cut to the 
debate. I turned it off and listened to a CD I had just made of "The Savory 
Collection" (made by Bill Savory - look him up on Wikipedia) of late-30's 
jazz. I figured that Coleman Hawkins, Fats Waller and Lionel Hampton had a 
lot more to say than did Donald Trump.

Current reading is "Mud Season" by Ellen Stimson, a very-ADD woman who moved 
with her family from St. Louis to rural Vermont and their misadventures 
therein (think an updated "The Egg and I"). Lots of nice reviews, but 
neither Lee nor I care for it much. I suspect it plays much better to folks 
who don't live in Vermont.
