Cast your net farther, I would say.  If you're determined to continue as 
an organist rather than try something else, whatever that might be, it 
sounds like you will have to look farther afield and weigh the price of 
personal convenience in the balance. Unfortunately, with the shrinking 
number of churches of any denomination it is a buyers market for 
organists these days.
