Perfect idea.  Imperfect in all other respects.  Not reasonable (based upon how things work here), not practical, and certainly not feasible (we have enough trouble keeping voting adequately corralled as it is).  The Electoral College is a silent part of the checks and balances that define us (for good or ill, but it's what we are).
