Sheila, your church is not the only one that is having to close or
merge. I personally know of three right now that are at various stages
in the process. It is one of the harsh realities of a shrinking
mainline religion in today's world. It is unfortunate that losing your
job is one of the bi-products of this sad situation, but you are _not_
the reason for the closure and you are in no way the kiss of death. Is
there someone in your Diocese with whom you can talk who can help you
weather the storm of your understandable grief and despair?

> Hello everyoneIt is now in official channels. We received a letter advising of their intent to close down the parish -then in church the announcement was made of the special vestry meeting. This Sunday was thefirst announcement of the meeting next Sunday day of meeting will be second announcement. We need to announce it twice before the meeting takes place. The meeting will take place nextSunday after services but I will not be able to attend. We fully expect that they will vote to close...I keep wondering in my own mind why on earth I am being put through this horrible situation again?I feel like yelling out - Hey don't hire this woman... She is the kiss of death. Hire her as yourorganist and you will close your doors!!! I feel like the proverbial closer..I just worked my way through a month worth of hymns thinking I won't have to do this for muchlonger... Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers I don't feel as if I can take much more of this..
