Roger, I honestly don't think pragmatism or logic have anything to do with his decisions. He is destroying things and firing off executive orders just because he can. I think he's being played by many of those around him to realize their agendas. And he's bound and determined to get rid of everything he thinks has Obama's stamp on it--even things that have been done by other administrations.
He has admitted not knowing what was in some of the things he signed, including the one that put Bannon on the Security Council and, more recently, the healthcare debacle. He didn't know some of the consequences if the bill were enacted; he had to be told.
It just gets more and more bizarre--and more and more frightening.
I want to get a passport, because I let mine lapse a few years ago. Now I'm wondering what kind of paperwork and proof I'm going to have to provide...or a burnt offering and my first-born...... And, of course, I do have one of those foreign last names, and it's not the one on my birth certificate........ I'll wait till after Easter to tackle it.

As for cuts to the EPA, has anybody whispered Flint in his ear? Prevention is better (and a whole lot cheaper) than dealing with the results. On purely pragmatic and financial grounds a number of his actions do not make sense.

I also saw a FB post which suggested his policies would lead to thousands of lost jobs - which will not be replaced by more manufacture or coal-mining as they have become far less labour-intensive.
