Not to mention Japanese knotweed.

We have a 2-3 acre field which has not needed any attention in the 7-or-so 
years we've been here. It's still just grasses, vetch, yarrow, and other 
innocuous stuff. No baby trees, bushes, etc. So I guess that's our 
"prairie". Around the edges blackberries, quaking aspen (called "popple 
trees" here), etc., are taking over. Fortunately no noxious invasives so 
far.
