Fr. Hillestad was later Bishop of Springfield (Illinois) and was
at the time (maybe for all time) the first Ascension Rector to be
married.  His wife was the daughter of the Bishop of Eau Claire,
so we did see him from time to time at Christ Church Cathedral.
 
As you know, probably, Bishop A.W. Hillestad had a very interesting
