My spouse has lost his black Cocker Spaniel, Molly.
 
She was in one of two fancy-pants pet specialty hospitals we
now have locally, and they called a couple of hours ago to tell
us that Molly suffered "an event," which consisted of no pulse
and respiratory activity.  They had done doggy CPR, and she
failed to revive.
 
She had underlying chronic idiopathic anemia, and that,
combined with her age of 14 led to her demise at this time.
 
Wilfred has been sobbing since the call and is at this point
inconsolable.  He had been given the pick of a litter for
having done some translation Spanish into English of some
papers by a woman, and for Wilfred and Molly it was a match
made in heaven from the outset.
 
We have a couple of Chihuahuas, and they will have to fill in
the doggy void left by Molly's departure.
