I'm trying to understand the Democratic senators' acquiescence to some
of Trump's appointees, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren's vote for Ben
Carson. I've read her explanation and find myself alternating between
understanding it and wondering if she's just swayed by re-election
issues like everyone else. Surely a relentless pushback against Trump,
though, would give those who would re-elect her what they're hoping
for? I'm not sure how "choosing one's battles" helps build up capital
for voting against those viewed as the worst stinkers.
