Every party has a down time based on any number of factors, in this case the damn fool error in judgment of resting on their polling laurels.  Recovery can take a while.  And it's only been since November.  With a new DNC chair in Feb, things will no doubt start looking up, albeit possibly cautiously, so as to avoid as many missteps as possible considering the Trumptext (context, ie).
